This spring members of the board and staff of the High Point Community Foundation were able to experience firsthand the result of one of their annual grants when they visited the High Point Central High School weight room located in their newly refurbished gym.
During the visit to High Point Central High School, everyone was able to see the weight room being used by students with whom they were able to interact and learn more about the impact of the gift. The Foundation was pleased to provide funding for the equipment in the weight room because no money was allocated for equipment when the gym was rebuilt.
“Our committee has a tremendous responsibility to insure that the monies we have been entrusted with are directed toward projects that truly impact our community,” shared Susan Culp, chairman, Grants Committee, HPCF. “[High Point] Central High School’s gym is now an impressive facility and we felt our students deserved to have quality equipment that would rival any workout center or school. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the students and seeing the equipment in use.”
