Business High Point Inc., in partnership with the High Point Chamber of Commerce, recognized David Miller, chairman of High Point Community Foundation, with its Distinguished Citizen of the Year award for his work on behalf of the Say Yes Guilford program.
Miller was cited by Business High Point Chairman Scott Tilley for having raised approximately $12 million for Say Yes Guilford.
High Point Community Foundation President Paul Lessard praised Miller, stating that the unique last dollar scholarship program might not exist without Miller.
Speaking to the High Point Enterprise, Lessard was quoted saying, “David has been the impetus, catalyst and sustainer of Say Yes. We wouldn’t have it without him.”
The February 28 ceremony also saw the High Point Community Foundation earn the Community Organization of the Year award. Lessard accepted the award for the Foundation.
